On July 1, 2019, we announced our “Declaration of Healthy Company” in and outside the company and declared our commitment to creating a workplace where employees can work in good physical and mental health. On March 2, 2020, we were recognized as “2020 Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organization” and this year, recognized as “2024 Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organization” for a fifth consecutive year. Centering on the promotion of employee health management, we are working to create a working environment through activities to reform working styles and to maintain and improve health. Major activities include prevention of lifestyle-related diseases, promotion of smoking cessation, mental health measures, and improvement of health literacy. We will continue our efforts to create a healthy workplace where employees can work in a healthy manner both physically and mentally.
Our semiconductor strain sensor “STREAL” was awarded the 2019 JSME Medal for New Technology by the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers. “STREAL” is an unprecedented device that integrates a measurement bridge, amplifier, AD converter, compensation circuit, and temperature sensor into a 2.5 mm square IC chip. Measured strain resolution is 1/1 million (1 με) and power consumption is 3 mW, featuring compactness, high-sensitivity, and energy saving. The principle of this device was developed by Hitachi, Ltd. in 2004, and we have been collaborating with the Hitachi Group since 2017. After the transfer, we developed modules suitable for various applications and focused on application development. “STREAL” is expected to be used in a wide range of applications, including monitoring of the state of infrastructure and industrial machinery and highly accurate control of precision machinery. Taking this award as an opportunity, we will promote the technological development of “STREAL” and develop it into a product that supports the IoT society.
“STREAL” was awarded the “25th Semiconductor of the Year Award” given to products that have made the greatest contribution to the development of the latest electronic products, sponsored by Electronic Devices Industry News.
Due to its high performance, small size, and low power consumption, STREAL is expected to be a killer sensor that realizes IoT in fields that are not currently digitized.
