The Glosel Group promotes social contribution activities with the aim of supporting the development of the next generation of human resources who will be responsible for the sustainable development of the company, as well as developing the local communities where our business activities are conducted. Through these activities, the feeling of being able to contribute to the local community encourages the personal growth of each and every employee, and the connections between people we meet through social contribution activities are a great asset.
“The Chiyoda Football Association” was established to promote the spread and development of soccer games in Chiyoda City and to contribute to a healthy and cheerful community where both men and women, from children to the elderly, can enjoy sports.
Since April 2015, the Glosel Group has agreed this purpose and provided support through the association mainly to junior high school and elementary school students who love soccer in Chiyoda City where our head office is located.
As part of its CSR activities, the Glosel Group has been supporting the Japan ParaCanoe Association as a Bronze Partner in promoting and developing para-canoeing since January 2020. The Japan ParaCanoe Association aims to improve international competitive skills, host events to communicate with able-bodied people, and enjoy canoeing without discrimination through canoeing experience events. On September 25, 2021, many people enjoyed rafting at the Canoe Slalom Center, which was built in Edogawa City, Tokyo, as the canoeing venue for the Tokyo Olympic Games. The Japan ParaCanoe Association supports athletes who excel around the world and aims to “create a vibrant and symbiotic society,” which is the philosophy of sports for people with disabilities, and the Glosel Group agrees with this philosophy and will continue to promote and raise awareness of sports for people with disabilities.

Since fiscal 2015, we have been conducting forest maintenance activities aimed at protecting the natural environment as part of our employee training curriculum. This year, we again conducted forest maintenance activities under the guidance of the Fujisan Club, an Approved Corporations Engaging in Specified Non-profit Activities, under measures to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus. Mt. Fuji has old-growth forests that have been nurtured over many years. There used to be a time when the world called it a “garbage mountain” because of the increase of climbers and tourists. As we continue our forest conservation and clean-up activities, natural forests such as village forests and mountain forests are being restored as they should have been, but the pace of these activities has slowed down due to the pandemic, and continuous forest maintenance activities are essential to protect Mt. Fuji. We will continue our forest maintenance activities with the aim of reviving and maintaining a more affluent natural environment by helping each and every employee understand the importance of nature through these environmental initiatives and raising awareness of the environment to create a quality bamboo forest environment.
Disposable contact lens cases (regardless of manufacturer) can be recycled into stationery or the like. The purpose of the campaign is to use the proceeds to promote eye donation and corneal transplantation, and to promote research and education on corneal transplantation through the Japan Eye Bank Association.
This volunteer activity started in fiscal 2018, and the entire company will continue to work together as part of CSR activities.
Since 2012, we have participated in the activity “collect plastic bottle caps, recycle them, and use the proceeds to vaccinate the world’s children” sponsored by “the Group MATE,” an organization that collects plastic bottle caps.
CO2 emissions are reduced by separating and recycling PET bottle caps, and profits from the sale of PET bottle caps collected are donated to the Japan Committee, “Vaccines for the World’s Children (JCV),” a certified NPO, to be used as vaccine money for children in developing countries.
Since 2014, we have been donating books no longer needed at work or at home using the “volunteer book pickup service” provided by BOOKOFF.
With the end of the volunteer program in 2020, we have started donating books through the new volunteer program called “Kimochito” to support an NPO, Keep Mons Smiling, which supports mothers raising sick children and children with developmental delays. We will continue to carry out this activity.
Since fiscal 2012, we have issued QUO cards (gift cards) with donations as a shareholder benefit. With QUO Cards with donations, 50 yen per card will be donated through QUO Card Co., Ltd. for activities to make children in areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake smile.
